I never wanted a player that looks like Winamp. I wanted one that actually runs Winamp skins. The difference is bigger than it sounds. A Modern Skin is not a bitmap theme, it is a program. XML declares the widget tree, compiled Maki bytecode drives the behavior. Drawers slide, tabs switch, windows change their shape, all of it scripted by the skin itself. Repaint that and you have a pretty poster. I wanted the original.
That is why qtamp runs skins as real programs. qtamp is my Qt6-native music player and the reference player for qtWasabi, my independent reimplementation of a Modern Skin engine. Skins ship their compiled Maki bytecode with them, and qtWasabi executes it in its own Maki VM. The skin’s logic drives the interface exactly the way it did in 2002.
The name is a play on words. “Qt” as in the framework, “qt” as in cute. A Qt-native amp, and hopefully a cute one.

Gigboy is a web app for musicians and bands to write, organize, and rehearse songs from — built on the open ChordPro format, so nothing you write is ever locked into a proprietary format or someone else’s server. It’s self-hosted only: you run it on your own machine, NAS, or VPS with one Docker Compose command, and your band’s setlists, recordings, and press kit live in your own database, not a startup’s.
No subscriptions, no per-seat pricing, no feature paywalls — every account gets full access.

/synth is a minimalist, array-oriented synthesis environment. Heavily inspired by the K/Simple lineage and the work of Arthur Whitney, it treats sound not as a stream, but as a holistic mathematical vector.
This isn’t a DAW; it’s a vector-processing engine designed for “Base Camp” signal processing.
It uses:
Sound is a vector. A kick drum is a vector. A two-second bell tone is a vector. You do math on vectors and the result is audio. There are no tracks, no timelines, no patch cables — only expressions.
Self-hosted web app for browsing, playing, and editing music file metadata. Features a three-panel UI to navigate your library, listen to tracks, and write tag changes directly back to audio files. Built with Next.js, React, Prisma + SQLite, and node-taglib-sharp.
Most metadata editors are either desktop-only, command-line tools, or bloated apps with steep learning curves. If your music lives on a NAS, a server, or a headless machine, editing tags means SSH, mounting drives, or syncing files back and forth.
Tagr takes a different approach:
