Zoog is a Rust library that consists of functionality that can be used to determine the loudness of an Ogg Opus file and also to rewrite that file with new internal gain information as well as loudness-related comment tags. It also has functionality for purely manipulating comment tags of both Ogg Opus and Ogg Vorbis files.
Zoog currently contains two tools, opusgain and zoogcomment. opusgain can be used to:
set the output gain value located in the Opus binary header inside Opus files so that the file plays at the loudness of the original encoded audio, or of that consistent with the ReplayGain or EBU R 128 standards.
write the Opus comment tags used by some music players to decide what volume to play an Opus-encoded audio file at.
It is intended to solve the “Opus plays too quietly” problem.
This application can be used to find artifacts in audio files generated by signal processors. It analyses the signal variance across the audio duration, then generates a graph of the results.
The following types of audio can analysed: * Music * Sine Tones * Noise (White, Pink, etc)
If the audio recording is split across multiple files, they can be loaded into this application collectively and will be treated as a single stream. Multiple batches can also be loaded, in order to process multiple recordings in one continuous operation. The scanners can only process audio files up to 2.5GB, but the file splitter function can be used to break up large files into smaller ones.
A simple, high-quality DIY microphone pre-amplifier with switched gain. The background for this project was that I needed a simple but good microphone preamp for doing acoustic measurements. I needed a switched gain to be able to reproduce the gain setting in a more predictable way than what is possible with a potmeter. I could not find any existing DIY designs, so I decided to make one.
The design is based on the excellent THAT1510 or THAT1512 preamp ICs. It is also compatible with SSM2019 or INA217. I have followed all THAT’s datasheets and app-notes to implement a robust, best-practice design.
A goal was to use simple through-hole parts that I and other DIYers usually have in our parts drawer. So there are no additional IC’s or voltage regulators for example, it just uses simple transistors, capacitors and zener diodes for supply filtering and regulation. I selected affordable switches and connectors to keep cost down. Many parts can be substituted without sacrificing performance.
There are two versions of this design, one suited for a desktop encolsure with gain switch on top, and one suited for a rack-mount enclosure with gain switch on the front.
