CP-GFX ~ Guitar Effect Processor
CP-GFX is simply a Cross Platform Guitar Effect Processor. The aim of the project is to create an extensible and easy to use program which is easy to port to different platforms and operating systems. Currently in development are both Linux x86 and Win32 builds.
For the Linux build the primary audio API in use is JACK, which allows CP-GFX to work along side and with other programs, such as Ardour, or any other software using JACK without any fuss or problems.

LAoE ~ Multilayer Java Audio Editor
LAoE means Layer-based Audio Editor, and it is a rich featured graphical audio sample-editor, based on multi-layers, floating-point samples, volume-masks, variable selection-intensity, and many plugins suitable to manipulate sound, such as filtering, retouching, resampling, graphical spectrogram editing by brushes and rectangles, sample-curve editing by freehand-pen and spline and other interpolation curves, effects like reverb, echo, compress, expand, pitch-shift, time-stretch, and much more… And it is free of charge, under GPL license!
DrumGizmo ~ Multilayered Drum App & Plugin
DrumGizmo is an open source, multichannel, multilayered, cross-platform drum plugin and stand-alone application. It enables you to compose drums in midi and mix them with a multichannel approach. It is comparable to that of mixing a real drumkit that’s has been recorded with a multi mic setup.
Features:
- Stand-alone, Lv2 and VSTi versions available
- Open drumkit file format, allowing the community to create their own drumkits
- Drum velocity, allowing for several different hit velocities for each drum
- Multichannel output, making it possible to mix it just the way you would a real drumkit
- Optional built-in humanizer, analyzing the midi notes, adjusting velocities on-the-fly
- Stand-alone midi renderer, generating .wav files, 1 for each channel
- Stand-alone midi input, making it possible to use DrumGizmo as a software sampler for an electronic drumkit
CheeseTracker ~ Sampler & Sequencer
CheeseTracker is a software sampler and step-based sequencer. It allows a musician to turn single-note samples into instruments capable of covering three or four octaves (by playing the samples at different speeds, resulting in different pitches). In addition, it is possible to take a collection of samples that are recorded at different octaves, and combine them into a single “instrument,” allowing for even more octaves without sampling artifacts.
Using the Pattern Editor, it is possible to compose songs with these instruments that the computer plays automatically. The Pattern Editor allows the user to arrange samples in several independant channels, so that many samples can play simultaneously. These songs, and the samples which comprise their instruments, can be saved together in one-file archives called modules.
CheeseTracker imposes no limits on the length of the samples used. As a result, it can be used as a mixer as well as a sampler/sequencer. Effects such as reverb can be applied to each sample individually, eliminating the need for expensive pedals.
SooperLooper ~ Live Looping Sampler
SooperLooper is a live looping sampler capable of immediate loop recording, overdubbing, multiplying, reversing and more. It allows for multiple simultaneous multi-channel loops limited only by your computer’s available memory.
The application is a standalone JACK client with an engine controllable via OSC and MIDI. It also includes a GUI which communicates with the engine via OSC (even over a network) for user-friendly control on a desktop. However, this kind of live performance looping tool is most effectively used via hardware (midi foot pedals, etc) and the engine can be run standalone on a computer without a monitor.
SooperLooper is currently supported on Linux and Mac OS X, and any other platforms that support JACK. A Mac OS X Audio Unit version is included which does not require JACK to run.
DGuitar ~ Guitar Pro File Player & Viewer
DGuitar is a Guitar Pro (*.GP4,*.GP3,GTP) viewer and player that works under Linux, MacOs, Solaris, BSD or Windows or any other Operational System that has Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or later installed.
Beast ~ Linux Synthesizer & Music Creation
Beast is a digital synthesizer and music creation system, released as Free Software under the GNU LGPL-2.1+. It has support for Linux Audio Plugins (LADSPA), multi-track editing, unlimited undo, real-time synthesis, MIDI and various audio formats like WAV, AIFF, Vorbis, Soundfont 2, Gus Patch, FLAC and MP3 files, 32bit audio rendering, full duplex support, multi-core audio rendering, SIMD utilisation, precise timing at sample granularity, FFT spectrograms and MIDI automation. The project is translated into a variety of languages.

GLAME ~ GNU / Linux Audio Mechanics
Welcome to the wonderful world of GLAME, short for GNU/Linux Audio Mechanics! The project aims to present you with a powerful, fast, stable and easily extensible sound editor for Linux and compatible systems. And best of all, it’s GPLed!
AUBE ~ Sound Generation & Processing
AUBE is a system for sound generation and processing. You can process audio on the fly by setting up arbitrary configurations of sound generators, sequencers and effects modules, through which sound is played, filtered, and recorded.
HippoPlayer ~ Cross Platform Old Format Player
HippoPlayer is a music player for macOS, Windows and Linux that mostly focuses on music made for systems such as Amiga, C64, and gaming systems. While HippoPlayer supports MP3, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, etc it’s not the main target.
Motivation
The original HippoPlayer is something I used a lot when I had my Amiga. Over many years I tried various players and while some of them hold up none of them has been what I been looking for. Before starting this project I looked around quite a bit for alternatives and nothing really fit the bill.
Closest is likely XMPlay, but that’s for Windows only and closed source which isn’t what I want either but feature wise it’s fairly good. I started this project roughly 7 years ago. I did some work in a private repository and had something very basic up and running. Then other things happened and the project has been on ICE for quite many years but I always had it back in my head that I wanted to come back to it.
The aim I have with HippoPlayer is “a modern music player for your oldsk00l needs” This means it should feel nice and great to use with features that you can expect from a modern player but allow you to play older formats in the best way possible.
