Elpetozede ~ Split An Album Into Tracks

Elpetozede is a multi-platform, open source tool to split a wave file (.wav), which contains the complete audio recording of one side of a vinyl record or a cassette tape into single wav files, one for each track. It searches an Internet database (musicbrainz.org) for the album data, so, with a little luck, you won’t need to type all the track information by hand.

Wave Editor is fast and easy digital audio editing software for Windows. It provides a powerful and user-friendly editing environment which especially suits beginners. Quickly perform basic editing capabilities like cutting, copying, pasting and deleting parts of a recording.

Unlike the other sound editors based on the same ActiveX engine, our editor was developed from the ground up to be easy in use and fast. The user interface was designed with speed, accuracy and ease of use in mind.

The key feature of Wave Editor is a simple selection of audio blocks during playback. Non-destructive editing allows you to make simulated changes to an audio track without overwriting the original file.

DFasma ~ Compare Audio Files In Time & Frequency

DFasma is free open-source software which is used to compare audio files in time and frequency. The comparison is first visual, using waveforms and spectra. It is also possible to listen to time-frequency segments in order to allow perceptual comparison. It is basically dedicated to analysis. Even though there are basic functionalities to align the signals in time and amplitude, this software does not aim to be an audio editor.

Features:

  • Can load about 25 different audio formats (thanks to libsndfile or libsox).
  • Shows spectrogram, amplitude, phase spectra and group delay.
  • Can play a filtered sound given a selected frequency band.
  • Rectification of the spectrogram tilt (cepstral lifting).
  • Can create and edit segmentation files.
  • Can create and edit fundamental frequency (F0) files (thanks to REAPER).
  • Runs under Linux, Mac OSX and Windows.

Mp3splt ~ Split Albums Into Songs

Mp3Splt-project is a cross-platform utility to split mp3, ogg vorbis and native FLAC files by selecting a begin and an end time position, without decoding. It’s very useful to split large mp3, ogg vorbis or FLAC files to make smaller files or to split entire albums to obtain original tracks. If you want to split an album, you can select split points and filenames manually, you can get them automatically from CDDB (internet or a local file) or from .cue files. Also supports automatic silence splitting, which can be used to adjust cddb/cue split points. Trimming using silence detection is also available. You can extract tracks from Mp3Wrap or AlbumWrap files in few seconds.
