JJazzLab ~ Generate Backing Tracks

JJazzLab is a Midi-based application dedicated to backing tracks generation. You type in chord symbols, select a rhythm (style), then the application generates a complete backing track with drums, bass, guitar, piano, strings, etc.

The objective is to generate intelligent and interesting backing tracks, i.e tracks which are:

  • realistic
  • non-boring (with variations)
  • easily customizable, even for complex songs

AcidBox ~ DIY Hardware Synthesizer

ESP32 headless acid combo of tb303 + tb303 + tr808 like synths. Filter cutoff, reso, env mod, accent, wavefolder, overdrive within each 303, per-instrument tunings, hi-pass/lo-pass filter and bitcrusher in drums, send to reverb, delay and master compression. All MIDI driven. 44100, 16bit stereo I2S output to the external DAC or 8bit to the built-in DAC. No indication. Uses both cores of ESP32. Cheap ~$10. Consult with midi_config.h to find out and to set up MIDI continuous control messages.

You type in chord symbols, select a rhythm (style), then the application generates a complete backing track with drums, bass, guitar, piano, strings, etc.

The objective is to develop a jam buddy able to quickly generate intelligent and interesting backing tracks: realistic and non-boring backing tracks which you can easily adjust to a specific song.

4Front E-Piano ~ Freeware DX-7 Piano Plugin

4Front E-Piano is a small single sound instrument without any settings that reproduces a timbre, which is similar to DX-7 type e-piano. It is available as VSTi for Windows, and as an AudioUnit, VSTi and RTAS for Mac.

This instrument is small on memory and CPU usage and was found useful by many users and software developers as a plug & play e-piano module, which does not require any configuration or adjustment.

There is also 4Front R-Piano, which replicates a different type of E-Piano.
