Audio visualization usually relies on hand-crafted features, like intensity, timbre or pitch. These metrics are defined by humans and are biased towards our cultural representation of sound. In this project, we have trained a Neural Net to generate these features directly from spectrograms, in an unsupervised way. We thus get rid of this bias and hope the resulting visualizations can help us perceive music in different ways.

Cover Art Archive ~ Online Artwork Library
The Cover Art Archive is a joint project between the Internet Archive and MusicBrainz, whose goal is to make cover art images available to everyone on the Internet in an organised and convenient way.
Images in the archive are curated by the MusicBrainz community and go through a peer review process to ensure that they are correct, free of spam and of the best quality. If you would like to contribute cover art, create a MusicBrainz account and follow the guide. To see what has been added to the archive recently, please see the Cover Art Archive page at the Internet Archive.
MusicBrainz also provides API documentation for retrieving cover art via a release MBID. A C based client library libcoverart is available as well as the Java coverartarchive-api library.

OpenAIR Library ~ Open Acoustic Impulse Responses
Reverberation is an audible effect that is heard every day as a result of sound interacting with the environment around the listener. It is an effect that is commonly added artificially to electronically recorded and produced music, as well as in other media such as cinema, virtual reality applications and computer games. Auralization is an increasingly popular technique for accurately simulating reverberation and this website supports this practice through an expanding library of downloadable acoustic impulse responses (IRs) from interesting buildings, spaces and other sources.
The aim of the Open Acoustic Impulse Response (Open AIR) Library is to provide a centralized, feature rich and future proof on-line resource for anyone interested in auralization and acoustical impulse response data. For example it may be useful for researchers to quickly compare impulse responses recorded using different approaches, for developers of game audio wanting to recreate the acoustic environment of a specific building, or for musical composers looking for a desirable reverberation effect.
Online ABX Lossy / Lossless Tests
Is your audio system really ready for lossless sound? Here you will find a set of ABX tests allowing you to compare lossless and lossy compression in a variety of formats and bitrates. This site is still in its infancy, and the number of tests available will probably grow over time.

- Our project benefits teachers, students, faculty, and starving artist. They couldn’t afford to buy them so we are forced to give them away for free. π
- The Royalty Free Sounds section consist of Creative Commons and Public Domain works
- The owners of SoundBible.com were taught to share by their parents. Isn’t that what your parents taught you?
- Because Free is way cooler than Fee. That one letter “r” makes a world of difference
Can these sounds be used commercially? The Royalty Free Sounds can indeed be used for commercial uses. The free sounds can only if they are under the Creative Commons Attribution, or Public Domain License.
