- A life of suffering is not likely to be that long, a life without suffering, not that worthwhile.
- A life without self-examination is not really growing, which is not really living.
- A life without conscious self-reflection leads nowhere. A lack of conscience leads to a lack of consciousness, many people are blissfully unaware of the reality around them and smothered in delusions of self-aggrandizement and self-gratification. One cannot truly be alive if one is not truly aware.
